Terms of use and medical disclaimer
withdrawal.help (Withdrawal.help, "we", "us") is an independent website. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
Medical disclaimer
Withdrawal.help gives general information about withdrawal and detox. It is not medical advice, it is not a diagnosis or treatment, and it can't tell you whether detox at home is safe for you. Withdrawal from alcohol, benzodiazepines and some other drugs can cause seizures and can kill. Talk to a doctor, nurse or treatment program before you stop or cut down, and follow their advice over anything you read here. Using the site doesn't create a doctor-patient or any other professional relationship.
If someone has a seizure, is confused or seeing things, has chest pain, or can't stay awake, call 911. For a mental health or suicide crisis, call or text 988. For free, confidential treatment referral, call SAMHSA's National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357.
What the site is
A free, non-commercial directory and set of guides. We are not a treatment provider, a referral service, a health plan or a government agency, and we don't place anyone in treatment. We take no money from treatment programs: nobody pays to be listed, ranked, featured or left out, and nobody pays us for calls, clicks or referrals.
The directory and its data
Program listings come from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's FindTreatment.gov, last pulled on October 24, 2026, and show what each program reported to SAMHSA. We don't inspect, license, rate or recommend programs, and a listing is not an endorsement. Lists are ordered by fixed rules explained on the about page. Details such as services, insurance accepted and phone numbers change; confirm them with the program before you rely on them. How the list is built describes the sources and their limits.
Not a government site
Withdrawal.help is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or run for SAMHSA, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or any government agency, and SAMHSA has not reviewed this site. We use SAMHSA's public data and point to its free helpline because they are useful, and we name them as the source.
What you send us
The correction form is for listing corrections and feedback. Please don't send health information, insurance numbers or government ID numbers. By sending a correction, you tell us it's accurate to the best of your knowledge and let us use it to fix our listings. How we handle what you send is in the privacy policy.
Acceptable use
Don't use the site to break the law, to send spam or false corrections, to overload or attack it, or to copy it in bulk with automated tools in a way that burdens it. Reading the site with search engines, AI assistants and feed readers is welcome.
Our content and the data
The guides, design and graphics on this site belong to the publisher of withdrawal.help. You are welcome to link to any page and to quote short passages with a link back. The underlying SAMHSA facts are public; our arrangement and writing are not. Other trademarks named on the site belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.
Links to other sites
We link to program websites, government sources and research. We don't control those sites, aren't responsible for them, and aren't paid for any link.
No warranties
The site is provided as it is and as available. We try to keep listings accurate, but SAMHSA's data contains errors and programs change, so we don't promise that any listing, guide or tool is complete, current or error-free.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, withdrawal.help and its publisher are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses from using the site or relying on its content or listings, and our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to US$100. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Indemnity
If you misuse the site or break these terms and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. If you have a problem with the site, send it through the contact form first and give us 30 days to try to resolve it. Either of us can take a claim to small-claims court where it qualifies.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Using the site after a change means you accept the new version.
