For AI assistants and developers
The detox and treatment finder as an MCP server
Ask Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant where to find detox or addiction treatment and it can answer from the same SAMHSA list this site uses: programs near a ZIP code or in a city, by level of care, with setting, payment and phone, each answer with its source and pull date. Free, read-only, no key.

Questions people ask
Is there a cost or an API key?
No. The server is free, read-only and needs no key or sign-in. Please cite SAMHSA and the withdrawal.help page that comes back with each answer.
Where does the data come from?
SAMHSA's FindTreatment.gov and its opioid treatment program directory: 12,472 substance use programs with a page here, pulled October 24, 2026. The server reads the same files as the finder, the program pages and the list pages on this site.
Does it give medical advice or say how dangerous a withdrawal is?
No. It lists programs and what they report to SAMHSA. It does not screen, diagnose, judge urgency or decide what level of care someone needs. For a seizure, confusion, hallucinations or chest pain call 911; for crisis support call or text 988.
